The principals of Traditions Seniors Housing Ltd. have been developing, building and managing seniors housing in Ontario since 1988 and has evolved with a like minded group of industry professionals with decades of experience in seniors housing. This group is committed to changing the seniors housing landscape in Ontario with innovation and collaboration being two key elements in reducing seniors housing costs. Collaborative Care is a program developed by Traditions Seniors Housing in conjunction with the developers of The Founders Residences. Collaborative Care represents a new higher standard of care in assisted living that helps control the occupancy costs of the residents while engaging family and community in the daily care environment while supporting the community with a low cost home care option.

Each Founders Residence will be  an architectural achievement, coordinated by seasoned local architects with a flare for creativity and a commitment to responsible community design. The Founders Residences will  be defined by their luxury, their safety, their security as well as their commitment to a healthy environment in a comfortable  residential setting.

Rod Lahey of RLA Architecture has been retained to deliver the Founders Residences vision to West Ottawa. RLA is a leader in the design and delivery of residential, commercial and institutional architectural projects in Ottawa.  Since its inception in 1996, RLA has earned a reputation as a trusted and reliable partner in the urban development industry. RLA is a cohesive team of architects, designers and technologists focused on the delivery of a wide range of architectural and design services.


Our Advisors/ 
The Founders Advisory Committee
 is comprised of a cross section of professionals from the real estate industry including design and development to construction and management. The Board is engaged to ensure the delivery of The Founder’s promise to its community, its investors and most importantly, its residents.

Glen Meschino As a graduate of University of Toronto in 1976 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, Glen recently retired from a 37 year career culminating as Senior and Managing Partner of Petroff Partnership Architects. Founded in Toronto in 1957, Petroff built a reputation for design excellence which spans the country and extends to the global marketplace. For six decades, Petroff has been at the forefront of each new retail format which has swept the country. Extending lessons learned from retail across diverse sectors has resulted in a rich and diverse portfolio that includes entertainment, mixed-use, office, recreational and residential projects. Glen was acknowledged in the industry as a leading Project Architect and Project Manager for large and complex commercial projects and was lead architect on a number of large multi-storey Long Term Care projects.

Bruce Stewart A former senior executive in Toronto’s banking industry, Bruce began developing seniors residences in 1988. Bruce has over 30 years of experience in development, construction and management of seniors specific real estate, working with many of  Canada’s leading seniors housing providers such as Amica, Chartwell, Sienna Living and Seasons Retirement in addition to developing the Traditions Seniors Housing brand. Most recently Bruce led the development initiatives on behalf of BayBridge Seniors Housing, who together with its management company BayBridge Senior Living, owns, operates or has a vested interest in 41 fully operational senior living communities in Canada and the US. Bruce branded the “Traditions” seniors model in Ontario which remains the operating brand name of his projects in Collingwood, Huntsville and Oshawa. Bruce has 13 seniors housing projects initiated, developed, built and currently providing housing to over 2000 Ontario seniors.

Stephen Picott The Care Team is led by Stephen Picott, a 30 year veteran of seniors housing management. Formerly a senior vice president with Chartwell Seniors Housing and currently a leading member of the due diligence team with Deloitte and the Ministry of Health. Stephen joins The Traditions team recognizing the opportunity to change an industry challenged with unserved demand, spiralling costs and overwhelming growth demographics. Stephen has earned a reputation in the industry for his professional expertise and dedication to delivering results with extensive experience in both the retirement and long term care housing sectors.

Ottawa based designers, 4té Inc have been retained to deliver an  interior environment that will be unrivalled in the West Ottawa community.

4té is an award-winning interior architectural firm with extensive experience as a prime consultant for projects in Canada and the United States. Their commitment to design excellence spans 29 years during which time 4té has delivered in excess of 4,400 projects.


Our BUILDER /
THOMAS FULLER CONSTRUCTION CO., LTD

Rich in history and dedicated to excellence; Thomas Fuller Construction is one of the most successful, family owned and operated, companies in Ottawa. Over the past 149 years, four generations of Fullers have played leadership roles in the construction of distinctive buildings.

In 1859, architects Fuller and Jones designed Canada's original Parliament buildings. Thomas Fuller later became supervising architect for all projects on Parliament Hill, and from 1881 to 1897 was Chief Architect for the Dominion of Canada. His son, Thomas W. Fuller, was also appointed Chief Architect in 1927 and designed many notable public buildings throughout Canada. Thomas W. Fuller's son, Thomas G. Fuller, won his first tender as a general contractor in 1939 and spent more than 50 successful years in the building industry. Today, Thomas G. Fuller's sons, William, Mark, Antony and Simon are active in the Fuller Group of Companies, and in continuing the Fuller tradition of building excellence.

Thomas G. Fuller, his sons and their team of construction professionals at Thomas Fuller Construction Ltd. have been responsible for the completion of more than 790 individual projects. These include office towers and fit-ups, hospitals, university buildings, research facilities, transportation terminals, shopping centres, heritage restorations and water sewage treatment plants. They have the skills, experience and management systems to confidently handle the most challenging projects.
